Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: The Most Creative Groomers First Master The Basics
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Groom Tech Patrick Mos of Pet Supplies Plus in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey! Patrick does everything by the book where it matters, but we find it really exciting that he’s not afraid to color outside the lines. He’s so excited to level up his skills and add his own artistry to his work, and we can’t wait to see the creative groomer he’ll become!

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I had been working in dog daycares for some time, and in the daycares, you run into dogs of all kinds. Many of which come in with matted fur and other issues that can be dealt with through grooming. Seeing these poor babies in these states made me want to help as much as I could, and so I started my venture to become a dog groomer!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
Getting to interact with each dog and building a connection with them while taking care of them. I especially enjoyed working with the curly/wavy coated breeds for the baths, fluffing out their coats is a lot of fun for me.
Where can we see your work?
I primarily work at Pet Supplies Plus in Cedar Knolls! I also plan to start posting videos/photos of the dogs I work with on various social media platforms in the future.
What are your future goals?
I personally am super interested in creative grooming, specifically dying fur. I think it would be a really fun and creative experience. I already dye my own hair, why not have fun and do the same for our little furry friends? I’d like to specialize in that in my future and see where that takes me!
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Make sure you truly love dogs before getting into this work. It’s harder than it seems, and the dogs will test you at every turn. Be patient and always make sure your dog(s) and you are safe above all things.
