Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: A Love And Understanding Of Pets Underpinning Everything
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Groom Tech Sarah-Jade Blake of PetSuites in Woodstock, Georgia! Sarah-Jade certainly has a knack for this line of work, but is more motivated by helping dogs look and feel their best. That is a key ingredient for success, and we know she’s on her way!
Just ask Sarah-Jade’s mentor, Jen McCarthy, who shares, “She has been an awesome student! Her grades are reflective of the hard work and dedication she has put into Level 1. Her photo submission tests indicate she has a natural talent for grooming. Sarah-Jade always would ask questions about what she was unsure of, and always sent photos to me first to make sure it was what we were looking for on our tests. An all-around fantastic student!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I own a very feisty and nervous long-haired dachshund named Koda who hates getting groomed. I realized how important it is that I place him in trusting hands where not only can I feel comfortable, but he can too! I want to be that person for other dogs and their owners, so they can feel relaxed knowing their dog is in good hands. I want to be able to make the grooming process a little easier, and not as nerve-wracking for dogs everywhere that are just like Koda!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed seeing the before and after transitions; it really puts in perspective how important grooming can be!

What are your future goals?
I hope to grow in my skills and be the best groomer I can be! I want to eventually be more independent in my work too.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
I am still an aspiring groomer myself, but something I find that I remind myself of every day is that the harder I work, the happier I can make more dogs!
