Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad: Proof Grooming Careers Can Be Contagious
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Pet Groomer Timothy Wheeler of Pet Supplies Plus in Midlothian, Virginia! Tim was inspired by other grooming employees and decided to give it a shot, and we’re so happy he’s enjoying this new career path!

It has been awesome watching him learn and grow into the groomer he wants to be. He has worked hard and made it his mission to understand and do each skill well. Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I was a shift supervisor and saw how the groomers we have love animals. Every time I went back there it made me think if I could do it.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I loved making dogs look better than when they came in. It was very satisfying when a client and dog love their new look!

What are your future goals?
I hope to be a great groomer and continue making dogs look better and better.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
It can be challenging but if you love animals and love the work it is very rewarding. I would recommend seeking out advice from people in your salon that have experience for your grooms or if you’re still in school, and ask your mentors for feedback.
