Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I chose grooming because I wanted a flexible, fun, and rewarding job that would continue to challenge me, as well as create a bond and trust with the dogs I work with.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I’ve found it to be very informative and consistently helpful to learning new and better ways to do my job, and learning how to be a competitive groomer that will go above and beyond to make sure the experience as a whole is beneficial for the pet and owner, which will keep the customer coming back
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
If you really want it keep at it no matter how frustrating one day is the next will be a new start if you find yourself becoming overwhelmed with a dog take a moment to put it away and give yourself a moment to reflect how your feeling and release that tension because they sense your feelings and actions and they will reflect it back to you and never push a dog past their limits it makes it not only a bad experience for them but potentially dangerous situation to you.
